Welcome to Coffee Break

Writer: momscoffeenyarnmomscoffeenyarn

Yes, mom finally a Coffee Break in Florida. Now to get this pandemic (panDAMNic) under better control. But neither here nor there.

For those whom are not my mom Welcome to Coffee Break!! Coffee Break is possible one of my top favorite summer break activities. As a SAHM (stay at home mom) I have always wanted to start a real Coffee Break, but have been too many obstacles. Plus, I have no friends to invite and bring there friend(s) with them. Most of the moms around me work outside the home.

What is a Coffee Break you ask? Let me paint a picture. Of an old two story home on an open and large plot of land in Maine. Where on Wednesdays the door is open for friends to meet in the morning until the last woman leaves. They have unending pots of coffee, danishes, and other goodies brought in to share. The kids (now this is in the 80's for me) run around the house and hang out where ever they want with not helicopter moms. Wanna play outside - go for it (we all knew to stay in the yard). Wanna play in the kids rooms have fun and pick up your own mess. Wanna drink Kool-Aid until you puke - have fun just clean up when you're done puking. Wanna hang at the table and watch the ladies crochet, knit, hand sew, share tips, tricks, and just laugh at dumb mistakes. I can't remember how long my Meme and mom would sit and talk with friends, but it is a faint memory I hold on to with my heart. I long for that time of open door friendship. Here is the shocker for those whom already know me. I am a forced extrovert. There I said it. I am an introvert looking out the window wanting to be easy go lucky bubbly person on the outside. My self-esteem is pretty low, so I have always chose not to put myself out there. Plus, to find a group of friends that will stick around is hard these days.

However, here I can have my going to try a virtual Coffee Break. My plan is on on Wednesdays to post under this category about anything and everything. Maybe I need help with a craft project or someone reached out to me for help. Ideally I would like to do a Facebook Live Coffee Break later in the future. I just need to see if I gain enough people to follow and spare 30-60 minutes once a week to hang out virtually.

Please leave comments below for idea or topic for Next Wednesdays Coffee Break.

Namaste my friends ^_~
